Sometimes our dogs are more than companions… they’re protectors.
In a heartwarming Indiana story, a loyal dog named Delilah helped save her owner after she went missing and fell in a field near her home in La Porte County.
According to reports, deputies responded to help locate a missing and endangered woman along with her dog, Delilah. While officers searched the area, Delilah suddenly appeared and began running toward a nearby pasture. Deputies noticed something unusual, the dog would stop, look back, and make sure they were following her.
Delilah continued leading authorities farther into a field east of the residence until deputies finally spotted the missing woman lying in the grass nearly 1,000 feet away from home.
The woman had reportedly fallen and was weak and dehydrated, but thanks to Delilah’s persistence, first responders were able to locate her in time and get her medical treatment.
After the rescue, Delilah was rewarded with three hot dogs, well deserved for a true hero.
Stories like this remind us just how incredible dogs ?really are. They don’t just give companionship and unconditional love… many times they instinctively protect the people they care about most.
At Scoopster, we spend our days around dogs, and stories like Delilah’s are one more reminder that our four-legged friends are family.
